The Day the Orchestra Got Stuck - Ron Miller (1992) -- approx. 12 min.

This piece requires some histrionics on the part of the conductor and orchestra.  Subtitled "A Little Musical Fun," The Day the Orchestra Got Stuck! is a simple collection of children's songs - Itsy Bitsy Spider, Knees Up Mother Brown, and the ABC song.  When the orchestra begins the ABC song, however, they get 'stuck' - until the conductor realizes that they are stuck because they cannot remember their "ABCs."  The Audience has to help them, and once they get past that, they can finish the piece.

There is a script for the conductor to follow to prepare the audience for the piece by getting them to sing a little (with the orchestra), and to get through the 'stuck' section (which also involves wind players squawking on their mouthpieces/reeds, brass players playing glissandi, etc.  One orchestra member needs to sneeze loudly.
